Skin Peeling

Is a technique used to improve the appearance of, (usually) facial skin; by inducing a controlled injury to the skin’s outermost layers. Although you can purchase and perform milder peels without training, stronger peels should be administered by skincare professionals only.

There are many types of peels available using different chemicals, varying in strength. The right chemical-based peel will depend on the individuals skin type, conditions or concerns.

AHAs, ( a-Hydroxy acids), are both naturally occurring or synthetically produced and are extremely popular within the advanced skincare industry. At Guilliard’s we use both glycolic acid, (found in sugar cane) and lactic acid, (found in sour milk). For these topical compounds to be effective, absorption in to the skin is essential, due to their small molecular size, the AHAs easily penetrate the epidermis.

Epiderma5 AHA 40 glycolic peel, provides adequate exfoliation without causing damage to the stratum corneum. This treatment will improve the condition and texture of all skin types. Great for improving the appearance of: acne, hyper-pigmentation, ageing and dull skin.

Although this is a 40% free acid glycolic peel, due to its unique formulation no skin preparation is necessary and there will be little or no discomfort or downtime.

Genosys Snowcell brightening peel contains vitamin C, Kojic acid and lactic acid. This is a great treatment for improving the appearance of hyperpigmentation issues such as: melasma, freckles and lentigo senilis, which occur when melanin is produced excessively due to exposure to UV rays and free radicals.

Although it is recommended to have a course of treatments to really appreciate the benefits of skin peeling, a single treatment will leave you with an noticeable improvement in the skins appearance and texture.
